Jeanne McIntosh

Norma Jean “Jeanne” McIntosh, 81, of Belton, Missouri entered into her heavenly home on March 29, 2024. She was born on June 2, 1942, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of James and Wanda Albertson. Jeanne exemplified unwavering faith and trust in the Lord, serving as a beacon of guidance and friendship to many. She attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. While she held the role of a pastor's wife, alongside her husband of almost 40 years, they built many churches in Kansas, Wyoming, and Colorado. Many of which are still in existence today. She discovered her true identity as a Bible teacher, and mentor. Through leading Bible studies, speaking at conferences, and offering counsel, Jeanne left a positive imprint on everyone she met. Her heart overflowed with joy and compassion, and she brought the Bible to life so you could understand it. Jeanne has taught Bible studies in every church she’s been a part of, including her home church at South Haven Baptist where she spent Tuesday mornings teaching a wonderful group of women the Bible. Most recently, she started a Bible study at Benton House Raymore sharing the simple and loving scriptures in the Bible. Those who participated found the experience spiritually enriching and uplifting, contributing positively to their well-being. Jeanne has been part of the Five Foodies, a group of five women, who met the first Saturday of each month at a restaurant in Kansas City. Each month one of the ladies picks a new place to try. In May of this year they will celebrate 10 years of doing this together. No matter the challenge she faced, she knew God would provide and restore her. Through losing part of her eyesight to complications with diabetes and a heart attack, she knew God was always in control. Jeanne possessed remarkable artistic talents, including painting and chalking. She is most known for her wood carvings including Santa’s, Biblical characters, hillbillies, cowboys, indians and angels. Many of you reading this have a wood carving hand made by Jeanne. Jeanne was also known for her Rum Cakes. She baked these amazing cakes for many years, shipping them all over the United States. People often ask for her recipe but she would never give it up. Not only could she bake but she made the best hamburger you ever put in your mouth. Vegetable soup was always requested in the fall and in the summer her pineapple chicken salad would definitely be on the menu. Most importantly, Jeanne was a mom and raised three beautiful girls who adored her. Their “girl weekends” were always one of her favorites. A few titles she was most proud of included Daughter, Sister, Mom, Aunt, Grandma, Nana, Gigi, Teacher, Mentor, and friend. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family. At family gatherings you’d find her playing games and it didn’t matter what game, but she wanted to play. She loved playing cards and dominoes. She was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed but we know, because of our hope in Jesus, that we will see her again in Heaven. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Wanda Albertson; sister, Mitzi Beard, and husband Robert McIntosh. She is survived by three generous and kind daughters and three amazing son-in-law’s that were all her favorite: Kelly Blankenship (Daniel), Ami McIntosh (Steve Hall), and Cindy Lawrence (Jamie); nine loving grandchildren, Jack Blankenship, Lea Tirevold (Andy), Benjamin McIntosh, Denton Lawrence (Abby), Rylie Cypret (Peyton), Aiden Lawrence; six fun great grandchildren: Harrison, Jeremiah, Eleanor, Fred, Crew, and KJ; Her loving brother, James Albertson (Patty); and numerous nieces, nephews, and great friends. A visitation will take place from 4:00-6:00 PM with a Celebration of Life beginning at 6:00 PM April 12, 2024, at South Haven Baptist Church, 16800 Bel-Ray Blvd, Belton, MO 64012. A private burial will take place in Eugene, Missouri on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
