Bonnie Jane Boatright

Bonnie Boatright was born on February 2nd 1954, to her parents Henry & Patricia Main of Kansas City, Kansas. Bonnie left to be with the Lord on July 16th, 2017, at her home. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Henry & Patricia main, Step-Mother Charlotte Main, Sister Patty Ann, ex-Husband Kenneth Boatright, and Grand-Daughter Jessica Masoner. Bonnie is survived by two daughters, Mika Lewis and her Husband Vincent, Sherri Boatright, Son-in-Law Angel Gibson, one son Kenneth Paul Boatright & Billie Jean, 3 Sisters Jeannie Jackson, Brother-in-Law Bob Jackson, Theresa Gonzalez, her son Joe McGinnis, & Jane Rayburn. 3 Step siblings, Beth, George, Delbert and his wife Sandy Bremerkamp, along with many more Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, & Cousins. Bonnie worked many jobs in her lifetime, mostly in Housekeeping which she enjoyed until she was diagnosed with COPD. Bonnie has a heart of gold and loved everyone she came into contact with. Her family meant the world to her and she meant the world to her family, friends, adults, and children to whom she opened her home. Bonnie shared what little she had, including meals and would give the shirt off her back to family & friends alike. Bonnie had many extended family members throughout her years that she helped and they all said the same thing, “Bonnie was like mom” to them. We all will miss her laughter, her selflessness, & high spirits. Bonnie was a strong willed person with a strong will to live. Bonnie survived many near death episodes that should have taken her, but she fought a hard battle and continued that fight until the very end. Anyone who knows Bonnie knows she was a fierce lover of her animals. They also know that her dog “Pookie” was very protective of her, not letting anyone get too close. However at the end, Pookie allowed everyone present to say their goodbyes. Her late dog “Cuddles” ashes will be laid beside Bonnie and buried with her. A visitation will be held for Bonnie from 1:30-2:30 P.M. Friday, July 21 at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Service will begin at 2:30 P.M. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
