Danny Joe Everson, 55, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Born on August 20, 1969, in Kansas City, Missouri, Danny was the cherished son of James R. Everson Sr. and Pat Everson. From an early age, Danny radiated warmth and an innate ability to connect with both people and animals. Known for his unconditional love and boundless kindness, he had an extraordinary gift for making others feel valued and appreciated. Danny had a deep affection for animals, especially squirrels and his dog Bella. He was affectionately known as an "animal whisperer." Whether training dogs or bonding with wildlife, he had an uncanny knack for understanding and communicating with creatures of all kinds. His steady hands, which once painted with precision and grace, also penned exquisite handwriting that reflected his artistic spirit. Family was at the heart of Danny’s world. His daughter, Helena, was his greatest joy, and their time together was filled with laughter, love, and shared adventures. From playing spirited games of Uno to riding bicycles, their bond was unshakable. Danny also found immense happiness in the company of his nieces and nephews, who adored his playful nature and cherished the moments they spent together. A passionate NASCAR fan and a devoted supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs, Danny loved nothing more than settling in to watch a game or a race, accompanied by a Coca-Cola and his favorite pizza. His playful sense of humor extended to his talent for imitating sounds, with his rendition of Donald Duck’s voice bringing smiles to countless faces. Above all, Danny had a heart dedicated to bringing happiness to others. His infectious smile and unwavering desire to see others happy left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. Danny is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Pat Everson. He is survived by his daughter, Helena Kessler; his father, James R. Everson Sr. (Bonnie Sue); his siblings, Lori Tillisch (James Sr.), James R. Everson Jr., and Glen Allen Ray Everson; his half-siblings, Jamie Prosser and Justin Ryan Everson; nieces and nephews Douglas J. Russ, III (Betty), Eric Everson (Katie), Gregory A. Russ, Tessa Hickcox (Kyle), Clyde Everson, Keira John (Christopher) and Alya Everson; beloved dog Bella and extended family members who will forever hold him close in their hearts. A celebration of Danny’s life will be held at a later date, where his family and friends will gather to honor his memory and the love he brought into their lives.
