Donna Jo Berry

Donna Jo Berry, 93, of Mission, KS passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Brookdale Overland Park. Donna was born May 23, 1933 in Kansas City, KS the daughter of Arthur and Theta (Purcell) Porter. She graduated from Argentine High School in 1951. On June 25, 1955 she married the love of her life, Paul Wayne Berry. They were married for 63 years when Paul passed away, and their love endures to this day. Donna was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma. She had a beautiful servant's heart, and she poured herself out for her family. In addition to raising her busy and active family, Donna worked for Kansas City Kansas School District for many years, and she loved and blessed many students and staff members. She began serving in the cafeteria at Argentine and Harmon High Schools, and then she became the school accountant at Harmon High School until retirement. She was a lifelong member of the Armourdale Baptist Church where she served in a number of leadership roles. She taught the third grade Sunday School class and Vacation Bible School for many years, and served as a youth group sponsor. She continued to be a supporter of ministry to children and youth throughout her life. Donna's faith was genuine - she loved God's Word and she strived to follow Jesus daily. She was a prayer warrior, who worried and prayed for all of her family members and friends. Donna was a great cook, and a talented seamstress and quilter. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of laughter and love and service. Donna leaves behind three sons, Dave Berry and wife Nancy of Shawnee, KS, Randy Berry and wife Sandy of Shawnee, KS, and Scott Berry and wife Wendie of McLouth, KS; eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, her parents, and her sister, Marie Burris. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM with Funeral Services beginning at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Armourdale Baptist Church.
