Elisa Rodriguez

Elisa Rodriguez, 94 of Olathe, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 19, 2020. Elisa was born on September 28, 1926, in La Magdalena, Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Jose and Rafaela Villalobos. Elisa is preceded in death by both of her parents, Jose and Rafaela; husband Rodolfo B. Rodriguez; her beloved grandson Tony Rodriguez; brothers Roberto Villalobos, Rogaciano Villalobos, Rafael Villalobos, and sister Rosaura Rocha. She is survived by sons Octavio Villalobos, Pete Alvarado (Dody), Oscar Rodriguez (Trish), and Hector Rodriguez; daughters Martha Camacho, Elva Johnson(Lee), Monica Rodriguez, Sylvia Gomez (Steve), Manuela “Nelly” Rodriguez, and Tonia Hernandez (Brian); 45 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. In all, five generations with many nieces, nephews were blessed to be a part of her heart. Elisa was a strong matriarch of her family, a humble servant of God, and a generous giver to all. A woman who never cared much about her needs while always caring for the needs of her entire family especially relatives in Mexico. The numerous communities she lovingly embraced and welcomed her ranged from the Westside neighborhood of Kansas City, MO; Denver, CO, and Escondido, California. Her proudest accomplishment was being a mother lending her words of wisdom to her children, grandchildren, and those close to her. She was a strong, determined, and fiercely independent woman who loved life and had a witty sense of humor. Elisa absolutely loved cooking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling across the country as well as to her hometown in Mexico. Gardening was also a great passion of hers, nevertheless, she most enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is loved and will be missed greatly by her large family as well as those countless lives she touched along the way.
