Esther May Siler

Esther May (Nagle) Siler, 81, passed away in her sleep after a brave struggle with cancer on July 27, 2015. Esther was born on April 6, 1934 in Wheaton, Missouri to William Edgar Nagle and Ona May (Hood) Nagle. She attended Wheaton Public Schools graduating in 1952. She attended college in Springfield until she met Leroy Felkner and they were married in 1955. Esther and Leroy moved to Kansas City where they raised a family. Esther had three children, Teresa Lynn (Felkner) Howe, Jerry Wayne Felkner and Gary Lee Felkner. Esther worked at Federated Insurance Company for many years as an insurance adjuster. Esther and Leroy were divorced in 1981. Esther married Ernest (Larry) Siler in 1983. Esther and Larry worked side by side in Larry's concrete business for several years. Esther is preceded in death by her parents William Edgar and Ona May Nagle, husband Ernest L. (Larry) Siler and former husband Leroy Felkner. She is survived by her brother, William J. Nagle and her children Teresa (Felkner) Howe, Jerry Wayne Felkner, and Gary Lee Felkner. Her step-children Sheryl Siler, Lisa Siler, Mark Siler and Mike Lawrence. Esther had seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her nieces, Cathy Peterson, Tammy Skubal, Beth Myers , Theresa Nagle, Michelle Nagle and nephew William (Willy) Nagle. Many grand-nieces and grand-nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held at Maple Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Memorial services will be held immediately following the visitation starting in the chapel. After the services, the family invites those interested to gather to celebrate Esther's life with food and fellowship at Oak Grove Baptist Church from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Oak Grove Baptist Church is located at 5500 Woodend Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. Directions and map will be made available at the visitation and memorial service.
