Harold George Wall

Harold Wall, 88, of Olathe, Kansas, peacefully left this world on April 18, 2023 to be with his wife, JoAnn. Harold was born in Iberia, Missouri on May 12, 1934 to Noble and Ezmul Wall. He was their only child. Harold grew up on the farm in Iberia where he met his wife, JoAnn. After high school, Harold joined the army and did his training at Fort Lewis in Washington state and then was stationed closer to home at Fort Leonard Woods, Missouri. Harold and JoAnn got married during this time. After his military service, Harold moved to Shawnee, Kansas. Harold and JoAnn had one daughter, named Kathy. Harold worked for the Kansas Gas Service as a construction foreman. He worked there until his retirement in the 1990s. Harold was one of the first members of the Bristol Hill United Methodist Church congregation. Harold was part of the Shawnee Masonic Lodge 54 and was still a member until the date of his death. After retirement, Harold was able to spend more time traveling in his camper with the family. He did camper camping before it was cool to do camper camping. It was one of his favorite things to do. He loved traveling to Colorado and to Wyoming. In Wyoming, he loved the Cheyenne Rodeo and Yellowstone National Park. Harold was a skilled woodworker and built things for his family. He loved fishing and would frequently visit Lake Taneycomo and Smithville Lake to do so. He had a large garden and had his granddaughters help plant potatoes every year. He enjoyed cooking all types of food and having visitors over to eat. Coffee was his favorite and he enjoyed it at all times during the day. Harold enjoyed bluegrass music and CSI Shows. He enjoyed watching home building and improvement shows. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn. Harold is survived by his daughter, Kathy Wheeler; granddaughters, Morgan Cartwright and Lauren (Nick) Stout; and great grandchildren, Tanner, Alli, Peyton, Scarlett and Violett. All that miss him terribly. Please join us for a graveside service on Wednesday, May 3rd at 2 pm at Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the American Legion or Shawnee Masonic Lodge 54.
