Imogene Carol Theisen

Imogene Carol Theisen, “Imo”, 85, of Raytown Missouri passed away on February 3, 2023, at her home. Imo was born February 16, 1937, in Jonesburg Missouri to Robert Henry and Edna Marian Snedeker Wright who preceded her in death. Imo married James Theisen January 18, 1969. He also preceded her in death. They adopted their son, Dennis Michael Theisen and had three foster children, Travis and Kevin Pruitt and Debbie Allen who survive. Imo attended Walnut Grove through the seventh grade and then graduated high school in 1956 from Warren County High School. She lived and worked in Kansas City Missouri before moving to Raytown. She worked at TWA for 17 years and retired in 1973. She was on staff at Wornall Road Baptist Church where she was an active member. After retirement she took care of elderly people who needed someone to care for them. She also was an avid bicyclist and rode her bicycle all over the United States. She did this into her 80’s and made lasting relationships with her bicycle group. Imo also enjoyed needlework, cooking and walking. You never left her house hungry. She loved entertaining, laughing and watching people laugh. She genuinely cared about people and the happenings in their lives. She had a knack for knowing who needed a meal, a visit or phone call. She made sure her neighbors never spent a holiday alone or without a meal. Once you knew Imo you were her friend. Imo was preceded in death by her brothers, Neil and Arnold Wright and a sister, Doris Quanty. She is survived by her brother, Donald “Glenn” Wright (Toodie) of Jonesburg, Missouri, sister Hazel Hawkins of Ballwin, Missouri, Mary Lou Taylor of Kearney, Missouri and Donna Wilde of Columbia, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Charlotte Wright of Jonesburg, Missouri. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. No memorial service is planned as Imo donated her body to Kansas University Medical Center. Gatherings with family, friends, food and sharing stories with lots of laughter is highly encouraged. Any contributions in her honor can be made to Wornall Road Baptist Church, 400 W.
