Janice Sue (Schleicher) Kinzel

Janice Sue Kinzel born March 6, 1942 passed away July 20, 2012 at the young age of 70. She was born Janice Sue Schleicher and had several nicknames (Susie Q, Sue, Jan). She went to work as a graphic artist for Hallmark Cards right out of high school. She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting for family and friends. She retired from Hallmark and worked as a merchandiser for Gibson Greeting Cards and a marketing and insurance secretary at Seaman Family Dentistry until she became too ill early this spring. Janice loved country music and frequently went on road trips with her sisters to see Alan Jackson and others in concert all over the country. She spent many evenings with her friends dancing at Bill's 32. She loved her family but her eyes lit up whenever her grandchildren were around. Janice was preceded in death by her father, Antone Columbus Schleicher and her mother, Helen Mae Scheicher. She is survived by four sisters (Beverly Clark, Sarah Pierce, Diana Rickey and Sharon Springer) and three brothers (William Schleicher, Gary Schleicher and Boyd Schleicher). She is also survived by her former husband, Stephen Kinzel, three daughters (Bennette Seaman , Shara Meyer and Lainy Kinzel), one son (Stephen Kinzel Jr.), fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. An evening visitation will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Maple Hill Funeral Home (3300 Shawnee Dr., KCK). Funeral services will take place at Maple Hill Funeral Home on July 27, 2012 at 11:00am with graveside burial at Maple Hill Cemetery (adjacent to the funeral home) following the services. Following the graveside service, a luncheon will be provided for friends and family at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2012. It will be held at Rosedale Masonic Lodge No. 333, 6161 Slater St., Mission, KS 66202. After the luncheon, individuals 21 years or older may meet at Bill's 32 West, 6500 Kaw Drive, Kansas City, KS. This is the place where Janice went dancing frequently and made many friends. So any adults that would like to join Janice's children to dance and socialize are welcome to come along. Since it is a bar, everyone going must be 21 or older.
