Joshua Floyd Jandera

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and uncle, Joshua “Josh” Floyd Jandera, who left us on May 14, 2025, at the age of 35. Josh was so much more than words can capture. Born to Mark and Becky Jandera, on December 15, 1989, in Hanover, KS, he grew into someone whose love, laughter, and quiet strength shaped our lives in the most profound ways. To know Josh was to know his fierce loyalty, unwavering love for his family, and his wit and intelligence that could light up any room. Josh attended St. John’s Catholic School in Hanover, Kansas and graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 2008. He was an avid Kansas University fan. He loved walking, traveling, and spending time at the beach. He worked many years at Madonna’s Child Development Center where he was loved and adored by the children and staff alike. He also worked at Marriot where he was named General Manager of the Year. He especially cherished his role as an uncle to Jocey, Knox, and Riggs, a title he embraced with pride, joy, and boundless love. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his love, kindness, and unforgettable spirit will continue to shine in those who knew him. Josh was a person of deep compassion, creativity, and warmth. He had a way of making others feel seen and valued, always offering support, laughter, and encouragement. Whether through his passions, career, or hobbies, or simply his presence, he touched the lives of so many. Josh is lovingly survived by his mother, Becky Jandera of Lincoln, Nebraska; brothers, Jason Jandera of Frisco, Texas; Jacob (Christina) Jandera of Lincoln, Nebraska; sisters, Jessica Jandera of Lincoln, Nebraska; Melissa (Kristy) Beitler of Oviedo, Florida; Aunts and Uncles, John and Emily Firestine, of Lincoln, Nebraska; Tim and Connie Koss, of Hanover, Kansas; nephews, niece, cousins, and countless friends. Preceded in death by Father, Mark Jandera; grandparents, Gilbert and Wilma Jandera and Floyd and Mary Potter; Aunt, Mary Jandera; Uncle, David Potter. Josh taught us how to love well. His compassion, kindness, and sense of humor were contagious, and though our hearts are broken, we carry those lessons forward in his memory. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the Borowiak and Lorence families for their unwavering love, support, and kindness during this difficult time. Your care has been a source of comfort and strength. Forever in our hearts, we will miss and love you always, Josh.
