Judith Kay Brant, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin, passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2026, at the age of 82. Known to all who loved her as "Judy," she lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and adventures, and was deeply devoted to her family and friends. Judy was born on October 31, 1943, to Wayne and Elva Tague. She attended Turner High School, class of 1961, and remained extraordinarily close with her circle of school friends throughout her entire life; a true testament to the kind of loyal, loving person she was. In 1977, Judy was hired as the very first employee of Winning Ways Inc, which later became known as Gear for Sports. Over the course of 32 dedicated years, she became an integral part of that company, and made and maintained many deep friendships there. Judy had a zest for life that was impossible to miss. She loved to travel, and she was always ready to start planning her next trip. Over the years she cherished trips with Ron, family vacations, and many cruises with family and friends. Going to the movies and seeing live musical shows brought her great joy, and she loved to dance. From her earliest years to her last, Elvis Presley held a special place in her heart. In 1986, Judy and Ron found each other, beginning a love story that would span 40 years. They married in 1995, and built 31 years of marriage filled with companionship, travel, and a shared devotion to their family. Ron was immensely proud to have had her by his side for four decades, and that love was evident to everyone around them. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Elva Tague, and brother, Donald Tague. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Brant; her sisters, Pat Langton (Bob), Nancy Dixon, and Corinne Holman; her sons, Rocky Cannon (Shelly), Lonnie Cannon (Leslie), Kenny Cannon (Kristy), and step-daughter Heather Brant; her grandchildren, Cole Cannon (Kristin), Kasey Cannon, Katrina Powers (Eric), Henry Cannon, Charlie Cannon, Lee Tuter (Brittany), Lindsey Garman (Ryan), and MacKenzie Cannon; her great-grandchildren, Madelyn Hoffhines, Ellyson Hoffhines, Teagyn Hoffhines, Killian Powers, Lincoln Tuter, Clarke Tuter, Hadley Garman, and Rylie Garman; plus a wide and cherished circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who will feel her absence deeply. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Turner, 701 S. 55th St., Kansas City, KS. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Flowers are warmly welcomed and encouraged. Judy's generosity, her laugh, her love of a good time, and her deep devotion to the people she loved will leave a permanent mark on all who knew her. She was one of a kind, and she will be profoundly missed.
