Julia Marie Esquijarosa

Julia Marie (Castilleja) Esquijarosa, 76, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 at her home. She was born October 19, 1942 the daughter of Bernabe Mendoza Castilleja and Esperanza Valentina Lopez in Kansas City, Missouri. Julia worked at Parker-McCrory for thirty four years until retirement. She was a Christian and a long time member of the First Baptist Church Westside. On November 29, 1997 she married Wilfredo Roberto Esquijarosa in Kansas City, Missouri. Julia was outspoken and assertive but loving and caring at the same time. Her ears were always open to those who needed to talk but she would always say what she thought in return. She was a firecracker when giving you her honest opinion which was brimming with care and concern out of love. She loved filling her closets full of nice purses, shoes, and watches. She also enjoyed going to the casino and gambling. Her mornings always began with coffee and she loved spending her afternoons watching the Chiefs. Most importantly she was a mother, a wife, a grandmother, a care taker, and a best friend to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson in infancy, Michael D. Law; a great grand daughter, Yoselyn Alani Eredia-Grado; and a sister, Priscilla A. Pacheco. Julia leaves behind her loving husband of 21 years, Wilfredo; ten children, Veronica V. Law (Charles) of Kansas City, MO, Daniel Mickey Barajas-Ceballos (Tamela) of Kansas City, KS, Yolanda M. Barajas (Augustine) of Kansas City, MO, Sophia L. Barajas (Donald) of Kansas City, KS, Andrea A. Gonzalez (Catarino) of Kansas City, KS, Regina A. Gonzalez (Raymond) of Merriam, KS, Julian M. Barajas of Kansas City, MO, Tino Eredia (Melonie) of Kansas City, Missouri, Gabriel B. Eredia of Kansas City, MO, and Priscilla N. Castilleja of Kansas City, MO; twenty eight grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; a fur baby, Tiny; siblings, Bernie Castilleja, Edward Castilleja, Misty Glover, Monica Pacheco, Amelia Reyes, and Melinda Lackner. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday, April 11, 2019 and a Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 12, 2019 at Maple Hill Funeral Home in Kansas City, KS. Burial will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Baptist Church Westside.
