Larry J. Chavez Jr., 48, of Shawnee, KS, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Larry was a man whose heart was as generous as his smile, known for his selfless spirit and unwavering love for those around him. He was born on September 10, 1976, to Larry Sr. and Linda (Tomas) Chavez in Kansas City, MO. He grew up in the city he cherished, attending JC Harmon High School and furthering his education at Johnson County Community College. Throughout his career at Ceva Biomune, Larry earned the admiration of his colleagues for his hard work, dedication, and warm, friendly nature. Larry found joy in the simple things. He enjoyed playing disc golf, indulging in his love of movies, and sharing his vast knowledge of film trivia. But most importantly, he treasured the time spent with family. Whether it was a quiet evening at home or a family gathering, he made every moment meaningful with his kindness, humor, and quiet, caring presence. Larry is survived by his life partner, Nicole Aguilar, who stood by his side with boundless love and care during his courageous battle with cholangiocarcinoma. He is also remembered by his daughter, Sayde Chavez, and his beloved bonus kids, Nicholas Cervantes, Michael, Natalie, and Micaela Carter. He is also survived by his loving mother, Linda Chavez; his sister, Maryhelen Loya (Shane); and his brother, Steven Chavez (Vanessa). Larry was a devoted uncle to Richard Loya (Deonne), Ashton Loya, Donovan Chavez, Isabella Loya, and Anissa and Amaya Chavez and great uncle-uncle to Emilio and Nicolas Loya. Additionally, he leaves behind many aunts and uncles and cousins Larry was preceded in death by his son, Dominio Chavez, and his father, Larry J. Chavez Sr. Though he is no longer with us, his selflessness, warmth, and love will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the countless hearts he touched, and his memory will continue to inspire kindness and compassion.
