Michael Anthony Collins Jr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Collins, who left this world far too soon. Michael was a passionate, kind, and fearless soul who lived life with intensity and heart. He was a gifted rollerblader, known in the skating community as VX Fresh, and his talent was recognized in magazines and videos. When he skated, he wasn’t just moving—he was soaring, defying gravity, pushing limits, and inspiring everyone who watched him. Beyond his skill, Michael was a deeply caring and creative person. He had a sharp mind, a giving heart, and an unshakable determination when he set his sights on something. His kindness was evident in the way he always looked out for others, and his sense of humor could brighten even the darkest days. Michael faced many challenges, but those who knew him best saw the love, warmth, and brilliance within him. His journey was not an easy one, but his spirit remains unbreakable in the hearts of those who loved him. He is survived by his loving mother, Tammy Walls, and his father, Michael Collins Sr. and his girlfriend Yolanda Walker, his siblings, Marcus Walls, Markita Collins, Malachi Collins, Mathew Collins, and Antonio Thomas, his grandmother, Emma Jean Willis and many cherished step-siblings: Samuel Poole, Tyler Poole, James Poole and his wife Walla, Jacques Poole, Keaira and Teaira Walker, Jaequan Anderson, and Delshaun Simmons. Also, Aunts and Uncles: Deniese Smith, Laverne Collins, Mike Juranich and his wife Diane. As well as many friends, extended family, and the rollerblading community who cherished him. He is preceded in death by his cherished grandmother Mary Harrelson and his Uncle David Walls.. His impact on this world will never be forgotten. A funeral service/memorial/celebration of life will be held on March 22, 2025 visitation at 10:00-11:00 followed by a service at 11:00 at Maple Hill Funeral Home, 3300 Shawnee Drive, Kansas City, Kansas. A Repass will be after the service at 6219 Blue Ridge Blvd. Raytown, MO 64133. In honor of Michael’s love for skating and adventure, we invite those attending to bring a special memory, a story, or even a pair of skates in his memory. Michael, you are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. May you now be at peace, forever free.
