Paulette Jo Jenks

Paulette Jo Jenks (Strickland), 63 Paulette passed away on August 4th, at her home in Merriam, KS. Paulette was born May 9th, 1953, in Kansas City, MO to Wilber and Doris Strickland of Merriam. She was one of 4 sisters of which she loved and cherished dearly. They were all the best of friends. Paulette became friends with almost every person she met. She was a social butterfly. She was extremely giving and loving especially of her Son Harry III and Daughter Jennifer. Most recently her time was spent with Granddaughter Ruby, cuddling, rocking, and playing. She was so proud of her kids. Paulette graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1971. She married her high school sweetheart, Husband Harry Jenks Jr. During their 44 years of marriage, Paulette and Harry enjoyed many wonderful times together. They shared so much love for one another. Paulette would always brag about how handsome her husband was and has always been. They had a relationship that doesn’t exist that much anymore. They were soul mates. She loved to visit the Lake of the Ozarks, fish, enjoyed dancing and music, watching UFC, and loved Royals baseball. The entire family spent many years at the lake. It was Paulette’s favorite place to go. Paulette was the life of the party. She had your back and knew what to say to make things so much better. She was very honest, she would tell you exactly what was on her mind at all times. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to her Father after her Mother’s passing from 2007-2013. They had a very special connection. In her Father’s last years they enjoyed going to estate sales, garage sales and fishing together. She was great with keeping him active and happy. Paulette worked for 20 years at Consolidated Mailing as a Sales Rep and recently worked at Brookdale Senior Living Solutions as a Housekeeper. She was so giving to her residents; she liked hanging out and bringing them ice cream after her work hours. Many of which would not hesitate to let others know Paulette was their favorite. She was recently made the employee of the month. She was a very hard worker. Mrs. Paulette Jenks is survived by her Husband, Harry Jenks Jr.; Son, Harry Jenks III; Daughter, Jennifer Jenks; Son in Law, Jason Romanishin; Granddaughter, Ruby Romanishin; Sisters, Melody Strickland, Shelly Padelli (Cecil Padelli), and Tammy Lawrence (Steve Lawrence); Mother in Law, Myra Jenks; Sisters in Law, Sherry Howe and Julie Jenks; Nieces, Mystic Nelson, Aurora Strickland, Crystal Coates, Sarah Castro, Sam Lawrence, Taylor Lawrence, Debbie Howe; Nephews, Caleb Nelson, David Price, Austin Lawrence, Jeff Howe, and Kevin Howe (Jeannette Howe); Great Nieces, Anessa Pecina, Anastasia Pecina, Hailey Coates, Genesis Nelson, Aviana Estrada, and Tess Howe; Great Nephews, Evan Coates, Anthony Castro, and Isaiah Pecina.
