Richard Padilla

Richard Padilla, of Kansas City, KS, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 in Kansas City, KS at the age of 69. He was born the son of Rosalio and Guadalupe (Perez) Padilla on September 19, 1947 in Bonner Springs, KS. Richard grew up in Kansas City, KS and attended Bishop Ward High School. In 1966, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served as a combat soldier in the infantry during his tour in Vietnam. Richard is survived by his spouse Connie Padilla; his biological children include, Maria (Pat) Beisert of Frisco, TX, Richard Padilla of Lewisville, TX, Rachael (Corey) Wagner of Goshen, IN. Richard is also survived by his wife's children, Toni (Mark) Turner, Alan Cardona, Francise (Herbert) Decker, Patchouly Rodriguez, Donna Melendez, Matthew Cardona all of Kansas City, KS. Grandchildren from his children include, Brett Ahlin of Garland, TX, Tyler Beisert of Lewisville, TX, Michelle (David) Longer of Tyler, TX, Jenna-Marie Beisert of Frisco, TX, Breanna Beisert of Frisco, TX, Amanda (Beracah) Walker, Andrew Matthews, Joshua Matthews, Derrick Matthews, Xander Wagner all of Goshen, IN; grandchildren from his wife Connie include, Markiya Turner, Mark Turner II, Samantha Turner, David Turner, Peyton Rodriguez Workman, Marihuana Gee, Verton Gee III, Arihuana Wash all of Kansas City, KS; great-grandchildren from his children include, Aiden Walker, Aurora Walker both of Goshen, IN, a great-grandchild from Connie, Aniyah Melendez (Annie) of Kansas City, KS. Richard's surviving siblings include, Rosa Vasquez, Josephine Gomez, Daisy (Eddie) Ybarra, Rudy (Virginia) Padilla, Alicia Villa, Molly (Tim) Penrod, Rita (Ralph) Lupercio and Tom (Mary) Padilla as well as a loving extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Branden Richard Ahlin; brothers, Lucio, Rueben and Sergio; sisters, Frances, Geneva and Gloria. A visitation for Richard will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 11:30 - 12:30 PM followed by a Christian funeral service at 12:30 PM both being held at New Story Church, 5500 Woodend Ave., Kansas City, KS 66106. Burial with Military Rites provided by the Am. Legion Post #370 will follow at 2:30 PM at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
