Socorro Lozoya

Socorro Lozoya, 70, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. She was born November 8, 1948 the daughter of Benjamin Talamantes and Soledad Lozoya in Santa Bárbara, Chihuahua, Mexico. Socorro loved to do crafts and paint. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She always welcomed anyone to her table where she showed loved through her hospitality and food. She loved the lord and attended church at the 21st St Church of God of Prophecy. Her life was her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Jose Salazar; daughters Brenda Mortell and husband Steven of Kansas City, KS and Olga Ibarra and husband Octavio Romero of Kansas City, KS; a son, Alfredo Ibarra and wife Myrna of Kansas City, KS; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven siblings; and many more great friends and family members. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Sergio Ibarra; and two siblings. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. until service time. Nacida el 8,de noviembre,1948, hija de Benjamin Talamantes y Soledad Lozoya en Santa Bárbara, Chihuahua, Mexico. Socorro adoraba hacer manualidades y pintar. A ella le encantaban las flores y le gustaba la jardineria. Ella siempre le daba la bienvenida a todos en su mesa donde atravez de su hospitalidad y comida demostro su amor. Ella amaba al senor y era congregante de la iglesia 21st St Church of God of Prophecy. Su vida era su familia y disfrutar tiempo con sus nietos. La sobreviven su esposo, Jose Salazar; hijas Brenda Mortell y esposo Steven Mortell de Kansas City, KS y Olga Ibarra y esposo Octavio Romero de Kansas City, KS; y un hijo, Alfredo Ibarra y esposa Myrna de Kansas City, KS; ocho nietos; dos bisnietos; siete hermanos; y muchos mas amigos y miembros de familia. Ella fue precedida en muerte por sus padres, un hijo, Sergio Ibarra, y dos hermanos.
