Socorro Herlinda Rodriguez Oropeza passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Linda was born on March 18, 1947 in KCK. She was the second child out of five children born to Francisco Oropeza and Carolina Alvarado and was raised by her maternal grandmother “Abuelita Natalia” and aunt Concha whom she called “Mama Concha” in Uruapan Michoacán. She loved to read her bible, write in her diary and learn new things such as sewing, baking, cooking, planting, writing poetry, listening to music, enjoying nature, dancing and much more. Linda was raised in a very devoted Catholic family where she learned to love God and put him first in her life, she even contemplated becoming a nun and devoting her life to serving God and others. Her faith and trust in the Lord was what got her through any trials and hardships. She was a wonderful woman with a heart of gold, she enjoyed taking her family to church and teaching them about God, she was an amazing cook and loved to always have nice, neat and clean home for her children to come home to, with a good home cooked meal ready for them, it made her feel good to cater to her children and always make them feel loved. She also loved to travel and make new memories with her family. She had such a great sense of humor, very witty and would fill the room with laughter with her unexpected sayings, she had such love for life and living it to the fullest. Her core values were faith, family, strong work ethic, humility, integrity, honesty, kindness, which were passed on to her children and grandchildren. One of the best chapters of Linda’s life was creating new memories. Linda is preceded in death by her parents and Grandson Marco Jr. She is survived by her son Marco Antonio Rodriguez(Alejandra); daughters Natalia Anna Diaz(Mario)and Rosa Elena Delgado(Juan); Seven grandchildren; Javi, Clarissa, Miguel, Juanito, Emilio, Mario, Ivan Brothers: Frankie, Joe and Jesse Oropeza; sister Mary Lou “Nena” Lugo; and many loving friends. Visitation will be held at Maple Hill on Thursday April 4, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm, rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John The Evangelist at 10:00am Friday, April 5, 2024, Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be sent to The American Diabetes Association(ADA) and Alzheimer’s Association.
