Teresa De Jesus Duran Rodriguez, 60, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at North Kansas City Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on November 2, 1964, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Heriberto Duran and Hermila Rodriguez. Teresa earned her bachelor’s degree in special education and devoted over twelve years to tutoring and serving as an au pair for the family of Erika Jurado-Graham. Teresa was united in marriage to her best friend, Saul Nunez, with whom she shared a life filled with love and devotion. She was a vibrant and social person who found joy in teaching, helping others, and traveling. At home, she was known for her talents in the kitchen, her love of baking and trying new recipes, and her eye for decorating and keeping a warm, welcoming home. Above all, Teresa treasured her role as a mother, pouring her heart into her family. She will be remembered as an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sibling. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Saul Nunez; her children, Isis Chavez, Viviana Yang Lauderdale (Cheng), Isabel Lauderdale, and Nicole Nunez; seven grandchildren; five siblings; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 10:00–11:00 AM, with Mass beginning at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Guadalupe, 2544 Madison Ave., Kansas City, MO 64108. Burial services will be announced at a later date. Nació el 2 de noviembre de 1964 en Chihuahua, México, hija de Heriberto Durán y Hermila Rodríguez. Teresa obtuvo su licenciatura en educación especial y dedicó más de doce años a trabajar como tutora y au pair para la familia de Erika Jurado-Graham. Teresa unió su vida en matrimonio con su mejor amigo, Saúl Núñez, con quien compartió un hogar lleno de amor y devoción. Era una persona alegre y sociable que disfrutaba enseñar, ayudar a los demás y viajar. En casa, se le reconocía por sus talentos en la cocina, su amor por hornear y probar nuevas recetas, así como por su buen gusto para decorar y mantener un hogar cálido y acogedor. Sobre todo, Teresa valoraba profundamente su papel como madre, entregando su corazón a su familia. Será recordada como una esposa, madre, abuela, hermana y amiga extraordinaria. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres y un hermano. Le sobreviven su amado esposo, Saúl Núñez; sus hijos, Isis Chávez, Viviana Yang Lauderdale (Cheng), Isabel Lauderdale y Nicole Núñez; siete nietos; cinco hermanos; además de numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas y amigos entrañables. El velorio se llevará a cabo el miércoles 1 de octubre de 2025, de 10:00 a 11:00 a.m., seguido de la Misa a las 11:00 a.m. en Sacred Heart Guadalupe, 2544 Madison Ave., Kansas City, MO 64108. Los servicios de entierro se anunciarán en una fecha posterior.
