    Connie Jo Dunn

    August 25, 1960 - January 24, 2022

    Connie Jo Dunn, age 61, died peacefully on January 24th, 2022, after a courageous battle with Covid-19. Connie was born on August 25th, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri to Nancy and Larry Tyrer. She graduated from J. C. Harmon High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources (Cum laude) from Ottawa University. During her career, she excelled in multiple roles including a Systems Specialist, Program Manager, and Career Management Consultant. Connie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and had a passion for writing. Her works were published in multiple books which included: 101 Facets of Faith, Cup of Comfort Book of Bible Promises, Cup of Comfort Devotional for Mothers and Daughters, Life Savors of Women, Cup of Comfort Devotional for Mothers, and Cup of Comfort Book of Christmas Prayer. Prior to her death, she was drafting her first novel. Connie had a vibrant personality and was known for her compassionate spirit. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, participating in mission trips to Tanzania, and Bible study. Her greatest joy, however, was witnessing her children’s walk with Christ as they became confident individuals who mirrored her strength and compassion. Connie is survived by her husband, Robert Stanley Dunn, three children: David Justin Hilton, Joseph Andrew Hilton, and Julie Nicole Stransky, three stepchildren: Steve Dunn, Carrie Dunn, and Crystal Dunn, two grandchildren: Layla Hilton and Juniper Stransky, four siblings: Michael Tyrer, Cynthia Michael, Scott Tyrer, and Linda Tyrer-Miller, numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, Feb 5th at 11am. Visitation from 9am-11am, at the Lenexa Baptist Church located at 15320 W 87th St Pkwy, Lenexa, KS 66219.
