F. Charlene Cole, 95, of Kansas City, KSpassed away on Sunday Sept 6, 2020. Friends may call at the visitation on 09/10 from 11 to 12 at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Memorial service to follow at 12:00. Graveside funeral services will be at 1:00 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial contributions to Metro Lutheran Ministries. Charlene was born on September 11th, 1924 in Kansas City, MO and was a longtime resident of Kansas City, KS. After graduating from Rosedale High School in 1942, Charlene worked for the Rationing Board before working as an accountant at Wilcox Electric. She spent the last 15 years of her career as an accountant for Associated Wholesale Grocers. Charlene was an incredibly active member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and volunteered for numerous community organizations. She was the second mother and grandmother to many children in the neighborhood where she lived for almost 70 years. She loved unconditionally, never met a stranger, and made friends everywhere she went. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Fred O. Cole Jr in 1990. Charlene is survived by her children Fred Cole III (Tracy) of Hutchinson, KS and Marsha Cole (Dan) of Basehor, KS; nephew Ron Murdock of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Brian Cole (Laura) of Olathe, KS and Jennifer Johnson (Chris) of Tonganoxie, KS; and six great grandchildren.
