    Imogene (Jean) Louise Offutt

    August 10, 1922 - September 26, 2021

    Jean was born August 10, 1922 to David and Lalah (Cannaday) Fudge in Halls Summit, KS. Passed peacefully September 26, 2021. The family moved to Kansas City in 1925. Jean graduated in 1940 from Argentine High School in Kansas City, KS. She married Lyle E. Offutt in May 1941. Their son Robert was born in 1944 and their daughter Carole was born in 1948. Lyle served in the Army Air Corp in WWII. After serving they returned to Kansas City in 1946 and built a business together, International Printing Co where Jean was the Office manager until 1983. Preceded in death by her parents, Brothers, Max and Lewis Fudge, husband Lyle and Son Robert Offutt. Survived by Daughter Carole (Offutt) Thomas, Daughter in Law Martha Offutt, Grandchildren Melinda Penca, Jennifer Catron (Jimmy), Cari Thomas, Robert Offutt II (Jenny), Deborah Cottle, Billy Offutt, along with 10 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Jean (Mom, Mom-mom, Grandma,) enjoyed her retirement with family and friends by traveling the country, going on Casino road trips, fishing, bowling, playing Bridge, and entertaining at home. Jean also loved spending time with all the grandkids, taking the older ones on a train vacation and many summer trips to the farm. She loved to cook and was always ready to share her delicious recipes. Family favorites were her homemade meatloaf, chicken and noodles and her Rum cake. Some of her skillful hobbies included quilting and sewing. Almost every grandchild has a quilt made special for them from her. A special thank you to the Interim Hospice Care team for their kind and considerate care. Memorial Services will be at Maple Hill Funeral home on Friday October 8, 2021. Visitation from 12:30 1:30 pm and a memorial service 1:30 pm. Celebration of Life will follow at 4pm at American Legion Post 370, 7500 W 75th Street, Overland Park, KS 66204. https://fb.me/e/PEsIwTE6
