    Johnnie C. Roach Jr.

    November 28, 1964 - November 27, 2021

Johnnie Cordell Roach Jr, son of John Roach Sr and Josephine Salas Roach, passed away on November 27th, 2021 from complications of COVID-19. Johnnie was born on November 28th, 1964 in Kansas City, KS. Growing up Johnnie enjoyed being involved in multiple sports. He loved playing baseball, football, track, and wrestling. Johnnie was a very gifted athlete earning many awards, trophies, and athletic letters. Johnnie was a 1983 graduate of Turner High School. After graduation, Johnnie attended Highland Community College on a baseball scholarship. Johnnie was a proud member of The Kansas City Los Amigos, a Mexican-American fast pitch softball team. Growing up he traveled to many cities to play fastpitch. On July 25th, 1987 Johnnie wed Shanin Elizabeth Briggs. This union was blessed with two amazing children: Matthew Ryan Roach and Kelsie Ann-Elizabeth Roach. Johnnie was a hard-working man. He was the first employee to arrive and the last one to leave. Johnnie worked for Midwest Refrigeration before medical issues forced him to retire at a young age. This allowed him to spend precious time with both Matthew and Kelsie. Johnnie was a great father who adored his family. There isn’t one person that did not love him. Johnnie loved life: he enjoyed Fantasy Football, The Kansas Jayhawks (in a family of Mizzou fans), Mexican food, especially rice, collecting baseball cards and watching WWE wrestling. Johnnie’s love for his family is evident through his actions. Johnnie enjoyed watching Matty play baseball and basketball. He loved watching Kelsie in dance, basketball, and track. Johnnie was so proud of his children. Johnnie was preceded in death by his father, John Roach Sr, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Survivors include his children Matthew Ryan Roach and Kelsie Ann-Elizabeth Roach, his mother Josephine Roach, Three Siblings: Steven Michael Roach, Maria B. Rangel and her husband Alfred Rangel Sr, and Anthony C. Torres and his wife Theresa Torres, and the mother of his children, Shanin Milner. He leaves many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and many close friends.
