Joseph Augustine "Tino" Barajas, 73, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022. Joseph was born on April 26, 1948, in Kansas City, Kansas. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents Remedios G. Barajas and Luciana J. Ceballos; brothers Daniel Barajas, Alexander Barajas and his loving wife Iris M. Barajas. He is survived by his brother William Barajas; sister Alizandrina (Rina) Moreno; daughter Tina M. Barajas (Michael, Jose Jr., Jennifer, Jessica Castro) and his sons Joseph A. Barajas Jr. (Austin, Jeremy, Remy Barajas) & Jerry R. M. Barajas (wife Angela, children Alexis, Elysia, Aliya, Andrew "A.J." Barajas); and 11 great-grandchildren. Tino was one of the founders of the Mexican Baseball League in Kansas City, Kansas. He enjoyed coaching the Blue Knights and the A's baseball team for many years, as well as watching his favorite teams compete year after year from one season to the next. A die-hard Chiefs, KU Jayhawk basketball and Royals fan. He also enjoyed his oldies music whenever playing cards or shooting pool. He also enjoyed reading and watching many different military movies and books. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Maple Hill Funeral Home from 9:00-10:00 A.M., with a funeral service beginning at 10:00 A.M. A graveside service will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery immediately following the service.
