Lee Anne Dye

Lee Anne “Lee Lee” Dye, 68, of Golden, Kansas; formerly of Rosedale and Merriam, Kansas, entered into God's Kingdom on the evening of February 24, 2023. She was born on July 10, 1954 to Evelyn Harnden (Loftus) and Ivo “Big Pete” Loftus. A visitation ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 8th at 6:00 pm at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 16 South Iowa Street, Kansas City, KS 66103 (following the 5:00pm Daily Mass). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Church on Thursday, March 9th at 10 am, followed by a luncheon. Afterwards we will transport the urn to Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 8300 Quivira Road, Lenexa, KS 66215, where we will have a brief ceremony placing the urn. Lee Lee, the most caring and devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, is survived by her husband Tim (Timbo); her two sons, Aaron and Caleb (Zwee); and daughter, Sarah; her grandchildren Savannah, Hunter, Samarah, Ivo, and one expected; her sister, Lynn Sprowl; her brother, Pete Loftus (Rhonda) and many other family members and friends. She attended Crestview Elementary, Milburn Junior High, Shawnee Mission North High School, Johnson County Community College and graduated with honors from UMKC. She married Timbo on April 7, 1979 and worked at Rosedale State Bank until 1990. After leaving the bank she enjoyed raising her children, and proudly attended every Parent-Teacher conference, never missing a single conference for any of her three kids. She also loved investing her time into gardening, going to festivals, vacationing in Colorado, Albuquerque and Branson with her family and friends. She also volunteered and helped any way she could including at her home parish, Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, with her childrens' schools and extra curricular activities, and at Watkins Woolen Mill, Mahaffie Homestead and other area historical sites. Later in her life, Lee spent several years working as quality control at the IRS. She also enjoyed remodeling her homes in Rosedale and Merriam through 2016 and after, achieved one of her dreams of owning a farm with her husband, Timbo. There they spent three years in their camper while they completed building their home which was accomplished in November 2019 and continued improving the property. Above all else, Lee Lee believed in doing the right thing. She was always concerned about others, and never minded putting in extra work and effort to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves. She also made sure to give God thanks and praise for His abundant blessings in her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Keeler Womens Center (759 Vermont Ave Ste 100-B, Kansas City, KS 66101) or to the Father Jerry Spencer Education Fund, which benefits the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School (1007 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, KS 66103). We would like to thank everyone for their kindness, sympathy and prayers to Lee Lee and our family in this time. That Momma is GOOD!
