Lisa Ann Aldrich-Jacobs (Powell), age 66, passed away March 5, 2022 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born on September 20, 1955 in Emporia, Kansas and lived most of her years in Roeland Park, Kansas where she raised her children. She attended St Pius X Elementary School and Shawnee Mission North High School (class of 1973) where many lifelong friends were made. Lisa spent the majority of her career at the Merriam Police Department where she was a Property Clerk, managing evidence, from which she retired. Lisa could be described as quiet, strong, selfless, and fun-loving. Her strength is one of the greatest gifts she gave to her family. Lisa had a big heart and was always willing to help wherever needed. She loved animals, gift-giving, entertaining guests by the fire, attending concerts, collecting crystal and stained glass, interior decorating, and gardening. She loved to take trips to Chicago and New Orleans, and had dreams of one day traveling to England, Ireland, and Scotland. More than anything she loved her family and dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother Patricia Powell (VanCleave) and father Frank Powell; her aunts Mary Lee Madison-Nail and Constance Lodle; and her love David Jacobs. She is survived by her brother Kevin Powell and her sister-in-law Donna; her son Nicholas Aldrich, and two daughters Andrea Aldrich and Melanie Aldrich-Berry; her grandsons, the lights of her life, Gabriel Berry and Alexander Plotnikov. She leaves behind many cousins who she loved and remained close with throughout her life.
