Maria (Linda) Oropeza-Salas Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Maria (Linda) H. Salas, 80, Olathe, KS, peacefully passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Funeral services will be at Maple Hill Funeral Home, Kansas City, KS, on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30am, with Rosary recited at 10:30am and Prayer Service at 11:00am. Memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, St. Luke’s Hospice House, or Our Lady of Unity Parish/St. John the Evangelist Church. Ms. Linda Salas was born in Kansas City, KS, and had lived in Kansas City and the Olathe, KS area most ofher life. She was a homemaker until her children attended school and retired from Ventures/Kmart Retail Store. She was a former member of the St. John the Divine Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Victoria M. and Adolfo F. Oropeza, two brothers, Ismael and Augustine (Tinto) Oropeza, and one sister, Petra (Delores) Garcia. Surviving are her four brothers, Feliciano Oropeza, Alfonso Oropeza, Armando Oropeza, Michael Oropeza and four sisters Belia Reyes, Louise Howard, Rutilia Griggs and Rose Hinkle. Her two daughters, Christine Salas-Dorantes (Cesar) and LauraSalas-Sykes (Tim) both of Kansas City, KS, her two sons, Phillip Salas (Amanda) of Kansas City, KS, and Thomas Salas (Paulinea) of Lenexa, KS. Nine grandchildren, Manuel Abarca IV (Alexis), Nicolas Valdivia (Marisa), Caitlin Salas (Ryan), Sidney Sykes, Rileigh Salas, Gregory (Jr.) Sykes, Megan Dorantes, Benicio Salas, and Sofia Salas. Six great-grandchildren, Ryader, Ezekiel, Westen, Olivia, Skyer, Camila and one (baby boy) on the way due Nov. 2022. She loved her family and extended family with all her heart. We will miss her every day, but her memories will live on and we will see her once again. The immediate family would like to say THANK YOU for all your thoughts, prayers, and support.
