Mark D. Quaas

Mark Dennis Quaas, 75, of Shawnee, KS passed away Thursday April 7, 2022 at home surrounded by family. He was born December 15, 1946 to Marion and Freda (Martin) Quaas in Clay Center, KS. He joined the Marine Corps and proudly served his country in Vietnam. He became a fireman in Kansas City, Kansas where he worked 32 years until retiring in 2001 at the rank of Captain. He was united in marriage on October 16, 1976 to Linda Joyce Wait. From this union his 2 children, Michael and Lindsey, were born. Mark loved to hunt, fish, and travel. He cherished his family, loved God and liked to eat popcorn and birthday cake. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Freda Quaas. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda, his son Michael (Heather), daughter Lindsey, grandchildren Michael Jr, Madison, Maxwell Quaas, Alyssa Pruden, Alison and Daniel Barnes, Dominique Gunn, David Remson and MaKayla and MaKenzee Smith. And great grandson Theo. He is also survived by his best friend, his brother Greg (Patti) Quaas, nieces Heather, Sarah and nephew James. A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 AM with Memorial Services beginning at 10:00 AM April 23, 2022 at Our Savior Lutheran Church (4153 Rainbow Blvd, Kansas City, KS 66103). Burial will be held at a later date at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
