Ova Lee Ellifrits, 103, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away January 19, 2022 at her home. She was born August 12, 1918 in Pikeville, Tennessee, the daughter of James and Stella Worthington. The family moved to the Kansas City area in 1926. Ova worked as a machine operator for Colgate & Palmolive. There she met the love of her life David Ellifrits. The two were married on June 14, 1945 and were blessed with 69 years of marriage. Ova’s favorite hobby was volunteering for local organizations, especially Cancer Action and Shawnee Mission Medical Center. She was a woman of faith and attended Victoria Tabernacle. Even though the church's name changed many times she remained a member until her passing. She was dearly loved and is dearly missed by all she met. She is preceded in death by her husband David; parents, James and Stella Worthington; and three siblings. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Sauceda (Bob); grandchildren, Robert Lee Sauceda (Mindy), Richard A Sauceda, Robin R. Jenkins (Larry), and Randy W. Sauceda; sisters Rose Brown and Dorothy Ingram; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM with a Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 PM Monday, January 24, 2022 at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Edwardsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Appl Orchard Hospice.
