Chase W. Baker

Chase Wendell Baker, 41, of Mission, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2026. He was born December 5, 1984, in Kansas City, the son of Steven and Connie Baker. Chase was the youngest of 5 kids. His siblings and many cousins were his closest friends. As a young boy, Chase loved to play outside, go to the lake and watch WWE wrestling. As he got older, he enjoyed watching the Chiefs play football, a night out with friends, barbecuing with his brothers, and attending family gatherings. Chase was always down to have a good time and tell a few jokes along the way. He loved to make people laugh. Chase also loved animals and kids, and they were drawn to him as well. Although he never had children of his own, he found joy in spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was known for his easy going attitude and gentle nature. Chase had a big heart and found purpose in life taking care of children and young adults with disabilities. Within that career choice, he had a gift that was undeniable. Chase had a strong and special bond with a young man, Jake Rives. Chase worked with Jake for over 15 years as a Direct Support Provider with a specialty in autism. Chase enriched and made an impact on many other lives, as well, his clients did for him. Chase survived a heart transplant nearly 9 years ago and his family is forever grateful to the young man, Brian Allen Williams, whose heart he graciously received. Chase was an amazing man and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. Chase is survived by his mother, Connie Baker; his siblings, Casey Baker and wife Rachel, Carlie Gill, Zachary Baker and wife Madison; nieces Kayla, Arlie, Finley, Scarlet, Hallie and Hazel; nephews Jalen, George, Hendrix and Hawk. He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Baker, and his brother, Kelly Baker.
