Daniel Alan Hatch

Daniel Alan Hatch, 59, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at his home. Born on January 5, 1965, in Kansas City, Kansas, he was the son of Thomas and Jacqueline Hatch. A lifelong resident of Kansas City, Daniel graduated from Bishop Ward High School after attending St. John the Evangelist Grade School. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver for USA Trucking before settling into a long career in property maintenance with Axiom Equities. Daniel lived life with enthusiasm and was known for his warm and generous heart. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Columbia Squires, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Rosedale #1100, where he enjoyed helping out with their charitable events and fundraisers. In his younger years, Daniel was a Cub Scout, Webelo, and Boy Scout with Troop 3034, earning the honor of being inducted into the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. When it came to fun, Daniel was all in! He was an avid fan of fishing, and he loved driving his Mustang, always making sure his vehicles were in pristine condition. A social butterfly, Daniel thrived in the company of friends and family. He loved karaoke, playing pool, and jamming out on the drums. He was a huge sports fan, passionately cheering on the Kansas City Royals, Chiefs, and KU Jayhawks. Daniel was always the first to lend a hand, and his kindness and generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew him. His laughter and big heart will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his brother, Chris Hatch; his brother, Tom Hatch Jr.; his sister, Loretta Stirling, his nephew, Jared Wolfe; and his brother-in-law, Tom Zarda Jr. Daniel is survived by his fiancée, Ronda Sterling, and her family; his daughter, Cassandra Johnson; son, Nathan Powell; his parents, Thomas and Jacqueline Hatch; his sisters, Cathy O’Donnell (Tim), Shari Zarda, Joan Halling (Jeff), Mary Wolfe (Roger), Amy Watson; his brothers, Steve Hatch (Kim), Larry Hatch (Rebecca), Tim Hatch (Carmen); his sister-in-law, Dana Hatch; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Daniel’s fun-loving spirit and kind heart will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A visitation will take place from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, with the Funeral Service starting at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. After the burial, the family invites you to join them for a Celebration of Life reception at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, located at 4726 Merriam Dr, Overland Park, KS 66203. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rosedale Fraternal Order of Eagles #1100 for their Children's Fund.
