Delbert Kevin Oldfield, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, departed this world tragically on January 22, 2025, at the age of 61, following a vehicle crash in Johnson County, Kansas. Born on October 10, 1963, in Kansas City, Kansas, Kevin lived a life filled with passion, laughter, and an unwavering love for his family. Kevin was the cherished son of Donald and Michael Oldfield, who have preceded him in death, along with his brother, James Craig Oldfield. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will continue through his five children: Joshua, Jami, Kara, Cynthia, and Delbert. His heart swelled with pride for his grandchildren: Lucas, Colten, Eli, Caiden, James, Madelynn, Karaline, Harrison, Mason, Kambrie, Luxley, Aria, and Able. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he treasured every moment spent with them, whether it was cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs or enjoying a movie together. Kevin was known for his vibrant personality and his love for life. He was an avid Chiefs fan, and his enthusiasm for sporting events was contagious. He spent countless weekends attending games and concerts with friends, always documenting each experience, much to the amusement (and occasional exasperation) of those around him. Kevin’s penchant for sharing his life online often led to humorous tales of being “banned on Facebook,” a testament to his unapologetic nature and his love for storytelling. Those who knew Kevin would describe him as opinionated, loud, and sarcastic — a true character. However, beneath that boisterous exterior was a fun-loving, quirky man whose heart overflowed with love for his family and friends. He had a unique ability to bring joy and laughter to any gathering, often being the life of the party. His playful spirit and genuine affection for others made him an unforgettable presence in their lives. In lieu of flowers, they encourage friends and family to gather, share stories, and celebrate the remarkable life Kevin lived. A visitation will be held from 1-2 P.M. Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Service will follow at 2 P.M. where friends and family will come together to pay their respects and remember the joy Kevin brought into their lives. The family is requesting attendees wear Chiefs attire, as we say goodbye to a man who loved fiercely and lived life to the fullest, let us carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
