Gloria Marie Villegas

Gloria Marie Villegas, 73 of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on August 6, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Gloria was born on May 12, 1949 to Virginia N. Dominguez and Victor V. Hernandez. She attended Argentine High School, and later went on to earn her GED, a certificate in cosmetology and a certificate in textiles and upholstery from KCK AVTS. Gloria worked for 27 years at the Jones Store distribution center until her retirement. In her spare time, she loved to sew, cook, make crafts, and enjoyed watching her Spanish novelas. Her children, grandchildren and great-grand children were her pride and joy. She always attended any baseball, football, soccer, and basketball games; cheering them on no matter what. She was so proud of all their accomplishments. Gloria was married to her loving husband Raphael “Red” Villegas Sr for 57 years. They had four beautiful children, Jessica Renee, Rafael Jr., Christopher, and Angela. We will miss all the amazing food she provided at family gatherings and the hospitality of opening her home for others to visit. We will cherish the special gifts she made by hand for us for special occasions or just to show us how much she loved each of us. She was a devout Catholic, always attending Saturday afternoon mass with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Gloria was preceded in death by her mother Virginia N. Dominguez, her brother Edward Hernandez, and daughter-in-law Jennifer Villegas. She is survived by her devoted husband Raphael Villegas, Sr, her children Jessica Renee Ramirez (Michael), Rafael Villegas Jr., Christopher Villegas (Veronica), Angela Villegas (Javier), grandchildren Joseph Ramirez (Laura), Andrew Ramirez, John Villegas, Christian Villegas, Alexander Villegas, Gabriel Villegas and Kathryn Villegas, great-grand children Nikolas Villegas, Julia Ramirez, and Olivia Ramirez., her father Victor V. Hernandez, sister and brothers Victoria Rodriguez, Raymond Hernandez, Victor J. Hernandez (Roseann), sister-in-laws Teresa Pedroza (Robert), Rose Martinez, Mary Villegas and Maria Villegas and many nieces and nephews. You will always be in our hearts and will remember your smile, love, hugs and kisses. Visitation will be Monday, August 15th from 5 to 8 pm at the Cathedral of St Peters Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas with a rosary at 6 pm. Mass will be held at the Cathedral of St. Peters Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 16th at 10 am. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery following mass.
