James William Morris "Wild Bill"

James William Morris "Wild Bill" A devoted son, father, brother, grandfather and friend, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the age of 77. Wild Bill was born the son of Ernest Eugene and Nora Ellen (Bell) Mace on August 1, 1937 in the Rosedale community of Kansas City, KS. He was a man of many accomplishments and numerous hobbies during his life. He had served his country proudly in the United States Army and had achieved many accolades during this time. Wild Bill retired as Sergeant First Class Morris from the Army. He was a part of the 82nd Air Borne out of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. He had served three overseas tours and was stationed at the Dominican Republic, Vietnam and Germany and was a highly decorated recipient of distinguished honors that included; 2 Bronze Stars, 1 Purple Heart for being a wounded Vietnam Veteran and was a member of the United States Special Forces Green Beret's. After his retirement in the service, Wild Bill lived a full life that included making numerous friends, being an avid motorcycle and antique car enthusiast. He was a member of the Brothers of the Third Wheel was always known for being the life of social gatherings and will be well known for being kind, generous and making new friends wherever he went. Survivors include his 100 year old mother of the home, Nora Mace; daughter, Deborah K. Crumpley; sons, John Foley, Jr., Rick Foley and Joe Foley; sisters, Nancy Bary, Beverly Yarbrough and Vickie Burris; two grandchildren, Jaime Nelson and Jake Nelson (Jenny); one great-grandson, Jaxton James Nelson; former wife, Linda K; best friend, Shelley Haislip; and a loving extended family that includes many friends and family. He is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Eugene Morris; brother, Ernest Eugene Morris "Sonny", companion, Janet Monteil; and a son, Adam Barnerd. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 6-9:00 PM followed by a funeral service on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 1:00 PM both being held at the Maple Hill Funeral Home, KCK. Burial will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery.
