Julia Madrigal

We gather to remember and celebrate the extraordinary life of Julia Madrigal, a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. Julia peacefully passed away at the age of 92 at her home in KCK, surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Born in Tangancicuaro, Michoacan, Mexico, Julia's journey led her to the United States, where she built a life filled with love, faith, and devotion. On December 31, 1953, she married the love of her life, Luis Madrigal, with whom she shared over 57 years of marriage and the joy of raising eight children before his passing on March 26, 2011. Julia's faith was an integral part of her life. She served as a Guadalupana for St. John the Divine Church until its closure, after which she became a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist church. Within the church, she took on various roles, including that of a cantor and delivering communion to shut-ins. Her talents were not confined to the church; Julia was also known for her singing and cooking skills. Her voice resonated with warmth and love, bringing joy to those fortunate enough to hear her. In the kitchen, she created dishes that were not only delicious but also a testament to the love she poured into everything she did. Julia is survived by her 2 sons and 5 daughters: Luis Madrigal Jr.(Kerry) KCK, Eduardo Madrigal, Bea Ramirez (Adolfo) KCK, Rosa Madrigal, KCK, Julie Peña (Jaime) KCK, Molly Cummickel (Kevin) Shawnee, and Sandy Creek (Mike) KCK. She leaves behind nineteen grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and three siblings: Estela Garcia, Mexico, Roselia Garcia, KCK, and Antonio Prado, KCMO. While we remember the joy and love that Julia brought into our lives, we also want to remember her husband, Luis Madrigal Sr., her daughter Virginia Madrigal, her parents Antonio and Amalia Prado, and her sister Ofelia Madrigal, who have preceded her in death. Julia Madrigal's life was a beautiful melody of faith, love, and service. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember her with the same warmth and love that she shared with us throughout her remarkable journey. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire us all.
