Pedro Avalos Marin, 93, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday morning, July 29, 2026. He was born on May 24, 1933, in Tangancícuaro, Michoacán, Mexico, to Pedro Marin Vega and Rosa Avalos. Pedro worked as a laborer for the railroad for many years. Pedro was a man of deep faith, unwavering integrity, and quiet strength. His relationship with God was the foundation of his life, and he lived each day with humility, gratitude, and compassion. His Catholic faith was reflected throughout his home and in the way he lived, finding comfort and purpose in his devotion to Jesus, the Virgin Mary, and the Catholic Church. An exceptionally hardworking and intelligent businessman, Pedro believed in earning everything through dedication and perseverance. He carried himself with quiet dignity and confidence, treating others with kindness and respect. His gentle spirit, strong character, and humble nature left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Pedro was deeply proud of his Mexican heritage and the place he called home. He loved sharing stories about his family, his hometown, and the traditions that shaped his life. Whether recounting memories of his childhood or speaking about generations past, Pedro found great joy in preserving his family’s history and passing those stories on to his children and grandchildren. His curiosity, appreciation for history, and love of his culture left a lasting legacy that will continue through the family he cherished. Above all, Pedro was a devoted father and a proud grandfather. He loved his family deeply and treasured the time they spent together. He also enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, Martha, singing, coloring, painting, and the occasional trip to the casino, embracing life’s simple pleasures with gratitude. Pedro lived with quiet strength and an unwavering pride in his family, his heritage, and the life he built. His legacy of love, integrity, perseverance, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Pedro was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Marin Vega and Rosa Avalos; his siblings, Carlos, Luz, Luis, Roberto, Rosa, Soledad, and Elvira; his daughter, Beatrice Marin; and his grandchild, Curtis. He is survived by his beloved wife, Martha T. Marin; his son, Pedro Marin Jr. (Ginger); his daughters, Linda Garrett (Chris), Marie Rockett (Jim), and Margaret Smith (Kelly); his grandchildren, Patricia, Joe, Matthew, Patrick, Tim, Anthony, Noah, Desiree, Rachel, Angela, Michael, and Bobby; his great-grandchildren, EmmaLynn, Ily, Eli, Lucy, Isaiah, Liam, Gianna, Layla, and Sophia; his great-great-grandchild, Keanu; along with many extended family members and dear friends. A visitation for Pedro will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist Church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
