Terry Andre Cade Sr.

With love, we celebrate the life of Terry Andre’ Cade, Sr., “Teddy,” father, grandfather, brother and friend whose life touched so many. Terry was born on March 19, 1955, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Bertha M. Cade (Jones) and Dr. Andre’ Renaud, and was later adopted by Walter E. Cade Sr. He grew up in Kansas City, graduated from De La Salle High School, and proudly served in the United States Army, earning the National Defense Service Medal and an Honorable Discharge. While stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, he met and later married Anna, and together they welcomed their son, Terry A. Cade Jr. Terry Sr. later became the father of Solomon Jackson, Edwin Jackson (with Aretha Jackson), and Nalesha Cade (with Michelle Buckner). Terry worked in auto sales, retired from Toyota after his MS diagnosis, and served as an ordained minister at St. Peter’s AME Church. Known for his comedian-like humor, love of barbeque, and self proclaimed status of the Kansas City Chiefs#1 fan, he brought laughter everywhere he went. Terry will be remembered for his feisty conversations, humor, and GQ style. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and nephew Christopher Cade Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory: his children Terry Cade Jr. (Malika), Solomon Jackson, Nalesha Cade, and Edwin Jackson (Laura); his grandchildren Aalyya, Inaya, Isiah, Noah, Millaiya, Luccario, and Jireh; his siblings Christie Cade, Sherrie Cade, and Walter Cade Jr. (Stephanie); nieces and nephews and a host of loving relatives and friends. The family of Terry Andre’ Cade, Sr. extends heartfelt thanks for the care, kindness, and support shown to Terry throughout his journey. A special thank you to the Kansas City VA Hospital, Kansas University Medical Center, St. Michael’s Veterans Center Apartments, and the caring neighbors. We are deeply grateful to Roger Mackey, Carla Walker, Precious Scott, Michelle Buckner, Donnie Wilson, Susan Eagle, Laura Jackson, Joe Ann and Carmen Hunter, Bethlehem Home Care staff, Mondell Estis and all the family and friends who extended their love and support.
